Digital Author Talk - Daniel Kehlmann

Jörn's library, Skellefteå

At Jörn's Library, you can see ten authors divided into six author talks shown on our projector screen during the spring of 2025, via Library Play, which is a streaming service from Stockholm City Library.
The author talks are recorded from Malmö City Library and today you get to meet the author Daniel Kehlmann in conversation with Cecilia Hansson.

The conversation will be held in English.

Daniel Kehlmann was born in 1975 in Munich, made his debut in 1997, and gained his major international breakthrough in 2007 with Measuring the World. He has published a number of award-winning novels and also written plays and screenplays, including for the TV series Kafka, which aired on SVT last fall.

This spring, his sixth novel, The Play of Light, will be published in Swedish, translated by Jesper Festin. In this work, Kehlmann unfolds, with deceptive playfulness, an increasingly nightmarish portrayal of dominance and submission, self-deception, fear, and silent violence.
