Sámien vahkkuo Jyörasne is being organized for the third consecutive year—a week filled with lectures, inspiration, facts, films, food, and much more. Most events take place at Jyöran girjjievuarkka – Jörn’s Library. All program events are free and open to everyone.
Come and learn more about Sámi culture, which has always been an integral part of Jyörra – Jörn and the coastal municipalities of Västerbotten. Discover local Sámi stories, the Ume Sámi language and its historical role in church life, forest Sámi influences in Sara Lidman’s novels, book recommendations from Sámi authors, and of course, enjoy beäbmuo – traditional food and svarggaldahkka – fika.
