On the island of Pite-Rönnskär you will be greeted by the stately Heidenstam lighthouse, small red fishing huts and hiking trails close to the sea.
Pite-Rönnskär is the most famous part of the Kinnbäcksfjärden nature reserve. Here you can walk along forest paths and take part in traces of the island's cultural history. Adjacent to the harbor there is a sauna for the public and barbecue areas.
Accommodation and boat taxi
During the summer months, you can book a boat taxi from Kinnbäck harbor to Pite-Rönnskär. If you want to spend the night on the island, there is a summer-open hostel in the old pilot house.

Explore the archipelago
On the mainland, the spruce forest on Sandviksudden or the large clapper and gravel fields with old pines on Orrholmsudden are great places to visit. In winter, the area is nice to visit on skis or with ice skates.
It also works to enjoy the sea by kayaking, swimming or snorkeling. On the island of Buskön/Kringsön there is a long, fine sandy beach.
If you want to experience a lush and varied underwater environment, a snorkel tour in the reserve is recommended. Examples of great places for snorkeling are the bays around Kroken, Bjässviken, Hålfjärden and the bay inside Björngrundet on Pite-Rönnskär. If you're lucky, you might catch a glimpse of a small pike or perch.
