In town while in the midst of nature

Paddling a canoe requires a lot of cooperation and as the overgrown waterways become narrower, that cooperation becomes more and more important. Saleta is seated on the forward seat. That position makes her the engine. Annica is seated in the back, taking on the role of the mate.

INTENSE NATURE EXPERIENCE TO TOWN

Paddling a canoe requires a lot of cooperation and as the overgrown waterways become narrower, that cooperation becomes more and more important.

THE WESTERN WIND is strong. It rips forcefully through the leaves, but down by the water surface, everything is remarkably quiet.
– This area is known as ‘the little rivers (Småaälvarna)’, Niklas says in a soft voice. It almost doesn’t matter how strong the winds are, down here, the water is always glassy.
The so called Småaälvarna are part of the Skellefte River. They flow calmly, rhythmically for the last kilometres, before the 410 kilometre mountain river reaches Innerviksfjärdarna, followed
by the open sea in the Gulf of Bothnia.

A selfie in the canoe

Paddling a canoe requires a lot of cooperation and as the overgrown waterways become narrower, that cooperation becomes more and more important.
Saleta is seated on the forward seat. That position makes her the engine. Annica is seated in the back, taking on the role of the mate. Niklas is paddling just behind Saleta and Annica. He
has his own canoe meaning that he must do all the work himself, but he’s not one to complain. On the contrary, he feels quite at home and tells stories about beavers, elk and other animals that
you can sometimes spot from your canoe.

A mix of pork, potatoes and vegetables.
Great laughs around the camp fire.

– There’s the beaver lodge, whispers Niklas, pointing with his paddle. In several places, we see beaver canals on the banks, spots where the beavers enter and leave the water. Suddenly, a beaver head pops up out
of the water. Unconcerned by our presence, it calmly swims along, into the cut down aspens and birches.

It's all about team work.
